Pitching is a unique skill which if done correctly can see your film idea turned into reality.

My script, 'What if?' is a three-minute short film that plays with the audience's bias.

But who is Georgia Redman?

Georgia Redman is a Director, Writer and Producer. She has worked in film and TV for over ten years and is known for her work on Broardchurch, The Long Shadow, The Outlaws and Stonehouse.

Her film 'You May Begin' won awards and her work on Eastenders saw her climb the ladder to Script Supervisor.

The Challenge! Through one of my University Lecturers Elisha Wyatt, Georgia challenged us to pitch a film idea to her, the winner would be made and shown at a showing of her latest film Fudge Sundae!

'Fudge Sundae' is a short film which stars: Ed Speleers, Joanne Froggatt and Kevin McNally. We'll get to see this film in 2025!

I had ten minutes to pitch, and I had a one in eight chance at winning this.! Come on Alex, time to deliver!

A two-to-three-minute film idea, how hard can it be? Well, quite hard as our film idea had to have a twist and it's not a long time to introduce your characters, explain a story and then finish with a mind-blowing punch that would be worthy to be shown before a successful filmmaker's masterpiece!

My pitch went well, and my final slide brought my film idea together nicely. It was a great little film inspired by a scene in Notting Hill when the press arrives outside William Thacker's house looking for Anna Scott.

I did really well, but it was Shannon Murphy who won the competition with a great film called 'Tonight's Dinner'. Rejection is part of the film industry, and I have learnt to treat triumph and disaster as the same imposter, as in the poem 'If' - Rudyard Kipling.
